Everything is exactly what it seems: Disney Channel is giving Wizards of Waverly fans all they wanted in their wildest dreams with an all-day marathon today (December 26)!

After the iconic Disney Channel series began trending on Twitter this afternoon, fans flocked to social media to see why the fantasy sitcom had been conjured forth from the depths of modern pop culture nostalgia. The answer, as it turned out, was not for a reunion special or cast-related controversy, but rather an impromptu multi-episode marathon, just in time for Boxing Day snuggled-up-on-the-couch viewing.

Naturally, fans were enchanted and expressed their excitement all across Twitter:

Starring Selena Gomez as a young witch and the only daughter of a family of wizards who own a sandwich shop in Manhattan, Wizards of Waverly Place debuted on October 12, 2007 on the Disney Channel.

The series, which won an Emmy for Outstanding Children's Program in 2009 and ran for four seasons, spawned a 2009 film adaptation (Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie) as well as a one-hour television special called The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex in 2013.

The series finale, which aired January 6, 2012, averaged nearly 10 million viewers, making it the most-watched finale in Disney Channel history.
