The deadly explosion at a fertilizer plant in West, Texas has killed several people and injured over 160 people. Even though Abilene is over 180 miles a way, there are still several ways you can help our fellow Texans.

    Within hours of the plant explosion in Texas, the Red Cross opened a shelter and began supporting a community response center. Red Cross disaster workers have been deployed from all over the state and are providing emotional support and health services with relief items such as comfort kits and water enroute to the region.     Donate Blood

    With so many injuries from the explosion, blood is definitely important right now, no matter your blood type. You can help give the gift of life to someone in need in West, Texas by donating blood at the Meek Blood Center located at 1150 North 18th on the first floor of the Cedar Mall Building.
