Marvel's Black Panther Hollywood premiere was a royal affair Monday night (January 29), with the cast and crew of the highly anticipated superhero flick turning up—and turning it out—on the red carpet.

Stars like Chadwick Boseman and Lupita Nyong'o looked positively regal in gold and rich purple hues, while others, like Daniel Kaluuya and Angela Bassett, paid tribute to the film's roots by wearing traditional and African-inspired garb, like Kaluuya's gorgeous cream colored kanzu.

Premiere guests like musician Janelle Monáe and actor-director also looked royal in bold colors and statement pieces, like Monáe's Renaissance sleeves and crown.

Other attendees included grown-ish star Yara Shahidi, Insecure's Issa Rae and Luke Cage's Mike Colter.
