Pokemon GO has become as divisive as this year's election. Depending on which side you're on, the passion is strong.

Well, if you're one of the many fans of the game that gets you off your butt and out of the house, then you'll enjoy the various Pokemon events taking place in our area.

  • Wednesday, July 27th
  • 8pm-10pm
  • Primetime Family Entertainment Center
  • Thursday July 28th
  • 5pm-8pm
  • The Abilene Zoo
  • Free for zoo members and regular admission for guests
  • "The zoo is home to 15 Poke Stops and one gym -- fertile grounds to hunt and battle."
  • Wednesday, August 24th
  • 4pm-5pm
  • Abilene Public Library
  • Local teens are invited out to a fun craft workshop inspired by the Pokemon GO.
  • Those who come out will have the chance to make team badges to show your support of team Valor, Mystic, or Instinct.
  • All materials will be supplied, and for additional information, contact Marianne Vadney at 325-698-7565.

There's also a Pokemon GO Facebook Group that does a great job updating people on local events and more.
