China has a serious gaming problem.

An 18-year-old man in China identified as Zhang recently sold his kidney for $6,510 to pay off debts he racked up playing video games. He reportedly owed more than $3,200, although it’s unclear how he incurred such a debt.

Le'ts hope Zhang is better at game playing than raising funds. A kidney reportedly goes for $47,000 in China, which means someone got his key body part, not to mention possibly $40,000 or so that he could probably use.

Gaming is immensely popular in China where several people go to extremes to feed their love of it.

With stories like this, though, maybe people should sell their hands so they can make some cash while also fighting their gaming addiction.
