There are so many characters that have captivated TV audiences over the years. From the Geico talking camel, to Tony The Tiger, here are some of the more memorable characters in TV commercial history.

Geico's Talking Camel

With the world posting pictures of camels on Facebook every Wednesday in honor of 'hump day', it's no wonder that Geico's talking camel seems to be the world's favorite TV commercial character right now. It even received it's own hilarious remix.

'Flo' From Progressive

Played by actress/comedian Stephanie Courtney, 'Flo' has been selling insurance for Progressive since 2008. Since then, she has taken the world by storm with her upbeat and goofy manner to become one of America's sweethearts. Be honest, you would date Flo, wouldn't you?

Tony The Tiger

When you think of TV commercial characters, you can't leave out one of the most recognized cereal icons of our time - Tony The Tiger. Since 1951, Tony The Tiger has not only help made Kellogg's Frosted Flakes good, but grrreat!

Kool-Aid Man

The Kool-Aid man was actually introduced in 1954 as 'Pitcher Man'. But, in the mid 70's, was re-introduced as 'Kool-Aid' man and has been busting through walls shouting out 'Oh Yeah!" ever since.

Aflac Duck

The Aflac duck has been around since 1999. It was originally voiced by comedian Gilbert Godfried, but, after some insensitive twitter posts, Godfried was fired and replaced by someone else. To this day, every time I see a duck, I instinctively shout out "Aflac" which scares the heck out of my wife.

Life Cereal's Mikey

First airing in 1972, the commercial showed three brothers eating breakfast when they decided that they were not so sure about the cereal they were supposed to eat. So, two of the brothers decided to let 'Mikey' try it because he "hates everything". Mikey liked the cereal and the whole world liked Mikey. In fact, the commercial aired for 12 years straight making it one of the longest continuously running commercials ever aired.

The Energizer Bunny

The little pink bunny with the glasses and the bass drum has been appearing in TV commercials since 1989. The mascot was originally a parody of a commercial by rival battery Duracell. Since then, the bunny has appeared in over 115 commercials and just keeps going...and going...and going. Here' one of my favorite Energizer Bunny commercials featuring Darth Vader.

Dunkin' Donuts' Fred The Baker

Fred the Baker has got to be one of the most recognized TV commercial characters in history. In fact, millions of people still use the catch phrase "time to make the donuts" every single day to signify going off to work. The character was loved so much, that when Dunkin' Donuts was going to retire the character, they decided to survey it's customers to get their reaction. The majority said the company could retired him, but only if he were honored.

Chester The Cheetah

I'd have to say one of the coolest TV commercial characters in history has to be Chester The Cheetah. If a cheesy cheetah with sunglasses isn't cool, I don't know what is. The hip Chester has been around since 1971 and still graces TV commercials with his cool presence to this day. Chester proves it's not easy, being cheesy.

Bartles and Jaymes

Frank Bartle and Ed Jaymes (played by David Joseph Rufkahr and Dick Maugg) began thanking us for our support between 1984 to 1991. The commercial featured the two chilling on a porch talking about different stuff and throwing down a couple of wine coolers.

Doublemint Twins

This is proof that sex sold even back in 1956 when the first set of Doublemint Twins were introduced. Obviously, the twins wore more clothes back then, but the use of a couple of pretty girls to sell gum has definitely doubled your pleasure and doubled your fun over the years.

I know there are a ton of other characters like Aunt Jemima, Cap'n Crunch, the Geico Cavemen and more so feel free to comment below and let us know who your favorite TV commercial character is.
