Tips for Staying Cool This Summer in Abilene

Nelson Splash Pad has over 2900 square feet of fun to help stay cool. It has 26 water features including water canons and a center dump bucket. One thing is for sure, the Abilene area has plenty of lakes to help keep you cool in the summer. Whether you want to kick back and do some fishing, swim, have a cookout, or just relax, you can definitely find a lake to do just that. • Avoid caffeine and alcohol as these will promote dehydration.
• Instead of hot foods, try lighter summer fare including frequent small meals or snacks containing cold fruit or low fat dairy products.
• Use common sense. If the heat is intolerable, stay indoors when you can and avoid activities in direct sunlight or on hot asphalt surfaces.
