Whether you own a big business with hundreds of employees or you have a side business in your garage, the Abilene Chamber of Commerce (COC) wants to help you grow your business with help from 'social media.' The Marketing Committee of the Abilene COC and TXU Energy are co-sponsoring a one day “Social Media 101 for Businesses” training session, this Tuesday February 6th at the ACU Hunter Welcome Center and early registration is a must.

The co-sponsored event will feature ACU Director of Online Marketing Scott Kilmer as the featured speaker. The training session on “Social Media 101 for Business”will be from 9 AM till 10:30 AM. Kilmer will discuss the importance of having and executing a social media strategy for your business. You'll also learn how to create compelling content on several social media platforms. If you dream of a day when you can engage your customers on a one-to-one basis, you will not want to miss this seminar. Kilmer advises you to bring your laptop, iPad and/or iPhone for a more hands-on experience.

Presenter, Scott Kilmer, in his role oversees the university's efforts in web communication, social media, email marketing, online advertising and web analytics. Scott established ACU’s profiles on social media and continues to oversee these channels, setting their strategy and promoting engagement. In March of 2011, ACU was cited as the #1 University on Facebook for total engagement. Today, ACU has more than 24,000 fans on Facebook!
