I was talking to a buddy the other day about how cool it was growing up in the Houston area and always going to the Astrodome for football and baseball games. So, for a little feeling of nostalgia, I jumped on Google Maps to take a gander at what the Astrodome looks like today.

As I sat there staring at the satellite view of the building, I thought it had to be one of the most identifiable landmarks in Texas so I went down the Google Maps rabbit hole looking at other landmarks.

Next thing you know, I'm writing this article about said landmarks. So, take a look at the photos below to see if you can identify various state landmarks from their satellite/aerial view. Some are easy, but some might have you scratching your head. No worries, though, I have included the answers for each.

The next time your boss tells you to get off of social media, then jump on over to Google Maps and have some fun scoutin' out the world. I like to use it to check out the old cities I used to live in. Crazy how much things change in just a few years.
