Governor Greg Abbott Signs New Executive Order Closing Bars
As COVID-19 cases continue to rise in Texas, Governor Greg Abbott has signed a new executive order that requires all bars to close statewide at 12 p.m. on Friday, June 26.
According to the order, bars can remain open for delivery and take-out orders, including for alcoholic beverages, but they cannot serve customers indoors.
Restaurants must reduce their capacity to 50% beginning this coming Monday, June 29th, and all rafting and tubing businesses must close immediately.
In addition, all outdoor gatherings of 100 people or more must be approved by local governments, with certain exceptions. There is no timeline on how long the new restrictions will be in place.
