Hot Chelle Rae is a pop rock band out of...Nashville? Yes, Nashville and you'll see why in just a minute. The group started as a 4 piece band but October 2013, one member left and the band has continued on as a three piece. The band is now made up of brothers Ryan and Jamie Follesé and Nash Overstreet. Those names might not mean much if you don't know country music but their fathers are major songwriters and singers in Nashville.

Ryan and Jamie's dad is songwriter Keith Follese who has written songs for major country acts like Faith Hill, Tim McGraw and Randy Travis. Nash Overstreet is the son (and brother to actor/singer Chord Overstreet of Glee) of singer/songwriter Paul Overstreet. Paul has his own claim to fame as a performer in the '80s-early 2000's recording 10 albums and claiming two #1 hits on Billboard. He has also written songs for Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney and more. So these 'offspring' come by their songwriting ability naturally.

The group began playing together in 2007 and toured as an opening act and performing at South by Southwest in Austin. They finally signed a record deal in 2008 with Jive Records and released their first album Lovesick Electric in 2009. Their second album Whatever was released in 2011 and contained the single 'Tonight,Tonight' which catapulted the group to international stardom. They opened for Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato before headlining their own tour at the end of 2012.

Now we await the release of their third studio album, hopefully before the end of the year. In the mean time the band continues to tour and recently released a video for their latest single 'Don't Say Goodnight', which you can watch below.
