One thing that is absolutely hilarious to me is seeing mascots get into a brawl during a game. I don't know why. It just strikes me as funny. But what if our area high school mascots truly duked it out? You know, like an actual cougar and a screamin' eagle. Who would win? For entertainment's sake, let's dive into this virtual cage match.

The Abilene area is full of different types of mascots. We've got lions and tigers and bears, oh my. Plus birds of prey, bulldogs, and even gorillas. Now if those actual, real-life creatures ever got into a fight, I think we all know what would result. A bulldog can't simply take out a gorilla, right?

But for the purpose of this imaginative experiment, I'm going to ask for your help in determining which mascot would be the ultimate fighter. It's the Battle of the Mascots. Let's get it on!

Here are your west Texas contenders: Cooper COUGARS, Abilene EAGLES, Jim Ned INDIANS, Wylie BULLDOGS,

Simply vote for which mascot you think would win an epic battle for the ages. Well, at least for bragging rights. We will crown a champ based on your votes.

Thanks for casting your vote. Keep checking back to see who ends up being the ultimate fighting mascot in the Big Country.

Disclaimer: This poll is completely for entertainment purposes only. In no way are we advocating for mascots to actually battle and beat the heck out of each other.

Speaking of voting, here are the results of the Best of the Big Country Awards.
