She wrote 'Same Love' for Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, which became a huge hit for the duo.

She has also written a book of poetry, 500 Tips for Fat Girls, which has received great praise. She performed earlier this year on the Grammy's with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis as a guest vocalist on 'Same Love' the show also featured Madonna and Queen Latifah. As a result Lambert saw a surge in her fan base and now has her debut album, Heart on My Sleeve, is scheduled for an October 2014 release. She will also begin a tour in support of the album next month as well.

Her song 'Secrets' is an anthem about being yourself and not caring what anyone else thinks. It has been viewed on YouTube over 2.5 million times. Check it out for yourself below; it has a great message, especially for teens.
