Adam Young is best known by the stage name Owl City. Considered an 'electronica' project Young has taken an experiment and made it into an international sensation. Here's more about Owl City.

Owl City was created in 2007 when Young experimented with music he had recorded in his parents basement. Young had a microphone and some computer software where he would upload his music and create songs. He would then post those to 'MySpace' and he started gaining a following.

Eventually he made those songs available on iTunes and they started selling. That lead to making an EP and then finally a full album both of which made the Top 20 on Billboard's Electronic Chart. His music soon went viral and caught the attention of a record label.

Young signed with Universal Republic in 2009 and released his first major album Ocean Eyes. The spawned three songs including the highly popular 'Fireflies'. Fast forward a few years and a few albums and Young is collaborating with artists like Carly Rae Jepsen, Jewel, Ellie Goulding and more.

Much of Young's music can also be heard in commercials and on movie soundtracks like "The Smurfs 2", "The Croods", "Veggie Tales" and others. Recently Owl City released two new singles and has plans to tour overseas in the coming months. However, all signs point to a new full length album in the works.
