Every once in a while, a contestant comes on American Idol that has me thinking they've got a chance to do something special with their talent. I thought that when I saw a 15-year old kid covering a 40-year old Rolling Stones song, and making it cool.
It was 47 years ago tonight (October 25th, 1964), that the Rolling Stones appeared for the first time on the Ed Sullivan Show. The Stones appearance was a lot more brief than the Beatles appearance earlier in the year. 'Some Girls' was the first Stones album to feature Ron Wood as a new band member, and is widely regarded as a landmark album for the band. It was certainly a commercial success, selling multi-platinum and featuring the number one hit 'Miss You'.

It looks like we might see a new Keith Richards solo album later this year. Spinner.com is reporting that Keith is in the studio laying down some tracks. This would be the first solo effort for Keith in almost 20 years. His Main Offender album came out in 1992.
