Summer officially starts on June 21st. However, with the temperatures we've had recently in Texas, it feels like summer started at the end of May. Nevertheless, it's time to plan those summer vacations.

With the help of WalletHub, we now know which states have the most fun. And, it looks like Texas is one of the most fun states in America.

To determine the most fun states in America, WalletHub compared 50 states across two key categories: 'Entertainment and Recreation' and 'Nightlife'. Then they evaluated those categories using 26 different metrics including restaurants per capita, number of attractions, movie costs, nightlife options, and more.

With pure enjoyment in mind, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 26 key indicators of a jolly good time that won’t break the bank. They range from movie costs to accessibility of national parks to casinos per capita.(WalletHub)

Where does Texas rank on the list of fun states in America?

 1. California
 2. Florida
 3. Nevada
 4. New York
 5. Illinois
 6. Colorado
 7. Washington
 8. Texas
 9. Minnesota
 10. Louisana

According to the study, Texas ranked 7th in 'Entertainment and Recreation and 13th as far as 'Nightlife'. We were first in restaurants, movie theaters, and amusement parks but ranked almost last in access to National Parks. (That one I'm kind of scratching my head at.)

Regardless, I think it's safe to say that Texas is a fun place to be in. Of course, we Texans already knew that, right?
