Do you have a mean smoked brisket recipe you’d like to be the talk of the town? Are you the neighborhood cornhole champion? Don’t miss the Fire & Ice Feast cookoff and cornhole tournament at The Old Settlers Camp Grounds in Buffalo Gap on Saturday, February 26th and 27th, 2022 updated. This is a great opportunity to show off your cooking and cornhole skills, while also supporting local volunteer fire departments in Lawn, Tuscola, Jim Ned, and Moro.

The cookoff starts Saturday with the Bloody Mary turn in at 10 am then the rest of the items will be turned in throughout the day. The cornhole tournament begins Saturday at 12:30 pm. The winning cooks will win 1st, 2nd and 3rd will split a percentage of the payout depending on the number of entries. The Corenhole tournament winners will win $300 for 1st, $150 for 2nd, and $50 for 3rd place.

If you’re interested in signing up for either the cookoff or cornhole tournament, contact Tracy Martin at (325) 665-6970.

The menu for the Big Feast on Sunday includes everything from alligator, buffalo wings, fish, ribs, beans, chili, chicken, brisket, pork tenderloin, and as the event's treasurer Bobby Wilson said "there's no telling what all you'll find to eat at the "Fire & Ice Feast."

The "Big Feast" is Sunday beginning at 11 AM when the gates open.the feed starts at 11:30 am until it's gone and that usually happens around 12:45 to 1 PM. Tickets for the Big Feast are $25 available at the gate only.

The volunteer fire departments not only help protect our homes and property around West Texas, but these brave souls are out there saving lives every time there's a vehicle crash on the nearby highway or out in the country.

Fire & Ice has raised over half of a million dollars in the last 12 years to help these VFDs.
